Matthew Berry said he has spoken with ESPN about a possible return, though he stressed that no deal is imminent.
ESPN’s shift on talent ownership reopened that path: Berry left in 2022 partly because the network would not allow employees to run their own media businesses.
Berry now focuses on Fantasy Life, his independently owned fantasy football company, which he said is on pace to generate eight figures in revenue this year.
He pointed to ESPN’s newer partnership model with Pat McAfee, Rich Eisen, Josh Pate and Bussin’ With The Boys as evidence the network now accommodates outside brands and licensing deals.
Berry said he still has a strong relationship with ESPN executives Jimmy Pitaro and Burke Magnus, making him a natural fit for the company’s broader push into creator-led sports content.
