He has missed five kicks in three games, including makeable tries from 44, 45 and 48 yards, plus an extra point and the 52-yarder that preserved Friday’s 9-9 tie in Kansas City. That is enough to force internal evaluation, especially because one of Friday’s misses directly cost Seattle points. But the evidence still points to Seattle staying with him for now. Mike Macdonald said after the game that the team still trusts Myers, and Myers’ broader résumé remains strong: he was one of the league’s most productive kickers last season, set franchise marks, and was perfect on extra points in the 2025 regular season. He is also in the final year of his deal, which gives Seattle flexibility later if the slump continues. The practical issue is the market. Available veterans such as Graham Gano, Brandon McManus and Matt Prater all come with age, injury or consistency questions. Daniel Carlson is no longer available, and there is no obvious upgrade on the street. The most realistic alternative would be a surprise cut by another team after final roster trims. So Myers’ struggles make him a legitimate story, but not yet a likely reason for a desperate last-minute move. The Seahawks are far more likely to monitor the waiver wire and keep Myers into Week 1 unless there is an injury issue or a clearly better kicker suddenly becomes available.

16-of-26 passing for 223 yards, one touchdown and no interceptions gave Jalen Milroe his strongest preseason outing Friday against Kansas City after he played the entire game.
Mike Macdonald said Milroe was more decisive, stuck to his reads and protected the ball, calling it a step forward as Seattle rested Sam Darnold and Drew Lock.
Two deep completions — a 40-yarder to Cody White and a 30-yard pass to Emmanuel Henderson Jr. — highlighted a night Milroe said reflected better preparation and growing trust from coaches.
Seattle’s lone touchdown drive covered 52 yards in 10 plays and ended on Milroe’s 4-yard scoring pass to tight end Nick Vannett.
