Portal fans quickly turned a leaked early beta GLaDOS model into “thirst traps,” rigging and reposting the more humanoid design across social media.
The posts followed a 12-terabyte datamine from Valve’s 2003-2013 storage that surfaced internal builds and assets tied to Portal 2 and other games.
The beta model shows GLaDOS as a more explicitly humanlike figure hanging from the ceiling, amplifying long-running interpretations that the character’s design evoked a bound woman.
The wider leak also included early material from Left 4 Dead, Counter-Strike: Global Offensive, F-Stop and Half-Life 2: Episode Three, but the GLaDOS clips became one of the internet’s fastest-spreading reactions.
