The paper also found enrichment in several chromatin-remodeling genes, while KRAS and TP53 stayed broadly unchanged with age, reinforcing that only some pathways shift sharply in very young disease.
The authors argue the age-50 cutoff may work for epidemiology more than biology and say the data support broad next-generation sequencing in younger colorectal cancer patients.
