No. The Garrett trade makes the Rams more dangerous, but it does not guarantee a hometown Super Bowl and could still age badly if this season falls short. The upside is obvious. Garrett is coming off a record 23-sack season and has at least 10 sacks in eight straight years. Pairing him with Aaron Donald, if Donald is truly game-ready after two years away, gives Los Angeles a potentially historic front. Add Trent McDuffie and secondary upgrades, and the Rams have addressed the defensive weakness that showed up in last year’s NFC title loss. They also still have Matthew Stafford, Puka Nacua, Davante Adams and an offense expected to contend weekly. That is why their odds have shortened to +500 and why projection models give them the league’s best Super Bowl chances. But the cost was real. The Rams gave up Jared Verse, a young Pro Bowl edge on a cheaper timeline, plus a 2027 first, 2028 second and 2029 third. If Garrett declines earlier than expected, Donald is limited, or Stafford’s age finally shows, the deal could leave the roster thinner and more expensive just as the bill comes due. Donald’s return is a major boost, but Sean McVay has already cautioned that his Week 1 readiness is uncertain. The bigger warning is structural: NFL favorites frequently miss. The Rams face a hard schedule, a competitive NFC West, and the usual injury volatility that can wreck even loaded teams. This move gives them their best shot at another title. It does not make the result inevitable.

Los Angeles moved to +500 to win Super Bowl LXI after Aaron Donald came out of retirement, strengthening a team that was already the betting favorite.
Those odds have shortened steadily all month — from +850 before the Myles Garrett trade, to +600 after it, then +550 before Donald’s decision.
The gap to the field is now wide: Buffalo and Baltimore are tied for second at +1000, followed by Seattle at +1200 and Kansas City at +1600.
History still argues for caution, with preseason favorites often missing the title; last year’s co-favorites were +700, while eventual champion Seattle opened at +6000.
Super Bowl LXI will be played Feb. 14, 2027 at SoFi Stadium, where the Rams also won the last Super Bowl held on their home field.
