Summary
OpenClaw Foundation shipped version 2.0 as the platform’s biggest release yet, adding shared cloud sessions, a rebuilt browser app and a simplified first-run setup.
The setup flow now detects existing ChatGPT or Claude subscriptions, API keys and local models, removing much of the manual configuration and letting users adjust settings later in chat.
The rebuilt browser app opens directly into a conversation and adds a Session Rail for live progress tracking, plus a companion thread that can answer questions about an active session without interrupting it.
Shared sessions let multiple users join the same task across a local gateway, paired hardware or disposable Crabbox machines on providers such as AWS and Hetzner, while credentials remain on the gateway.
Beyond the three headline changes, the open-source release also updates messaging, memory, skills, model support, automations, native apps, plugins and security.
