Not every map will match. Apple Maps had been slower to update, and some services such as MapQuest signaled they would keep “Lake Ontario.” Government, school and business websites that embed third-party maps may also display different names depending on the regional settings selected by the site operator. So the likely result is not one settled digital name, but a patchwork: one lake, multiple labels, shaped by jurisdiction, platform policy and user location.
