A 370-48 House vote cleared a stopgap spending bill that would keep federal agencies funded at current levels through Dec. 11 and avert a Sept. 30 shutdown.
The Senate had already approved the measure, letting Congress avoid another funding lapse during the election campaign after last year's 43-day shutdown and a separate 76-day Homeland Security closure.
Democratic support grew after the Senate version blocked Homeland Security from shifting funds to the Border Patrol and delayed a Trump administration rule expanding political control over federal grants.
The extension buys lawmakers time, but a full-year deal remains difficult as Republicans push hundreds of billions more for the military while Democrats demand parity for domestic programs.
