Thirty-seven suspected migrants were pulled from a 30-foot pleasure craft Friday after it drifted for two days about 88 miles off Channel Islands Harbor.
The boat’s operator radioed for help around 3:40 p.m., saying those aboard had no fuel, food, water or personal safety equipment.
Coast Guard cutters Sockeye and Halibut, station boats and an air crew found the vessel around 8:30 p.m. and took everyone aboard the Sockeye.
The group was brought to Coast Guard Base Los Angeles-Long Beach and turned over to U.S. Border Patrol after a nighttime rescue in rough offshore conditions.
