Luke Bryan said on Theo Von’s podcast that he wanted to “knock the s--- out of” online critics accusing his song “Fish Hunt Golf Drink” of being AI-made.
The 50-year-old country star said a few social-media users with large followings created a false narrative that spread widely, turning him into “the guy” who supposedly used AI.
Bryan said much of the abuse appeared to come from teenagers, adding he was angered by younger users calling him a bad songwriter and saying he would punish his own kids for similar behavior.
The dispute has simmered since the song’s release: Bryan denied the claim in June, and songwriters Chase McGill and Matt Dragstrem told Rolling Stone the track was written organically from one of Bryan’s text exchanges.
