With 96% of votes counted, Democratic Sen. Ed Markey, 81, defeated Rep. Seth Moulton, 47, by 64.9% to 35.1% in Massachusetts' Senate primary.
The result rebuffed Moulton's generational-change challenge and gave Markey a win as age has become a sharper fault line for Democrats after recent incumbent primary losses.
Elsewhere on the ballot, Gov. Maura Healey won the Democratic gubernatorial primary uncontested, while Republican John Deaton took the Senate primary uncontested.
House races were mostly favorable to incumbents, though the open 6th District went to Dan Koh with 41.1%, after Moulton gave up his House seat to run for Senate.
