Summary
More than 80 Richland County youth completed Catalyst Life Services’ 2026 Summer Youth Employment Program after 164 applied for the paid work-experience slots.
More than 60 local businesses and organizations hosted participants across fields including childcare, pet care, food service, retail, grounds maintenance, barbering and auto detailing.
Participants built workplace habits such as punctuality, communication and accountability while earning money; some also completed on-site CPR and First Aid certification through Madison Adult Career Center.
Employers including Little Blessings, The Weekend Club House and Ohio Pet Depot said the program gave them extra help while letting staff mentor teens in real workplace expectations.
Catalyst said the summer program complements its year-round WIOA Youth services for eligible 16-to-24-year-olds and is seeking additional business partners for future placements.
