Ron DeSantis backed a four-candidate Republican statewide slate at a Florida GOP forum in Tampa, endorsing gubernatorial nominee Byron Donalds alongside James Uthmeier, Blaise Ingoglia and Wilton Simpson.
DeSantis said the endorsements were important for Florida, while Donalds called the backing an honor and pledged to build on the governor's record.
Donalds enters the general election after winning the August GOP primary with President Donald Trump's support and will face Democrat David Jolly, a former Republican congressman.
Term limits bar DeSantis from seeking another consecutive term, making his support a notable handoff in a race to shape Florida's next statewide leadership team.
