Sept. 8 will bring 9/11 first responders and officials to the White House, where a 21-foot, 16,900-pound steel beam from the World Trade Center’s South Tower will be displayed on the Ellipse.
Trump and Tunnel to Towers CEO Frank Siller are expected to speak as the administration frames the event as a tribute to victims, families and the heroism shown during the 2001 attacks.
The White House also plans observances at all three attack sites: Trump will attend the Pentagon ceremony, Vice President JD Vance will go to Ground Zero, and other officials will represent the administration in Shanksville.
The beam is part of Tunnel to Towers’ 'Steel Across America' memorial tour, which has taken the artifact across 21 states to educate younger generations ahead of the Sept. 11 anniversary.
