The UAE’s telecom regulator has awarded Starlink a 10-year Public Space Services Licence, clearing it to provide broadband satellite internet nationwide.
The licence covers residential, business and government users, and extends to maritime and aviation customers, widening connectivity options beyond terrestrial networks.
TDRA said the approval should diversify telecom networks and improve digital infrastructure resilience, especially where conventional fixed or mobile coverage is less practical.
The move fits the UAE’s broader push to attract advanced technology investment and strengthen its position as a regional telecommunications and digital-economy hub.
