Tuesday's rebuttal from Doug Ellin called Debi Mazar's claims about a toxic "Entourage" set and body shaming "disgusting" in a series of X posts.
Ellin said no one involved "would have given a s---" about Mazar's weight after pregnancy, adding she was cast for talent, not looks, and insisting 99% of the show's women remained friends.
Mazar, 62, told The Sunday Times that the HBO show's first season was a "joy-fest" but that by season 3 the set had become a "testosterone-fueled environment" and later felt toxic to her.
Her account centered on returning after the birth of her second daughter and feeling executives disliked that she had "got fat," though she also said she stayed professional and remained grateful for the role.
"Entourage" ran for 8 seasons from 2004 to 2011, with Mazar appearing throughout the series and reprising Shauna Roberts in the 2015 film.
