Summary
9:47 a.m. Monday, a 90-year-old woman was knocked to the ground on Brighton Beach Avenue after a man allegedly threw a piece of furniture at her while she walked on the sidewalk.
Surveillance video obtained by News 12 appears to show the suspect pushing a debris-filled baby crib, then lifting it and hurling it at the woman before calmly walking away.
EMS took the woman to NYC Health + Hospitals/Coney Island, where police said she was in stable condition.
The suspect remains at large, and police said they have not identified a motive or determined whether he knew the victim.
The NYPD released a photo of the man—described as wearing a dark hooded sweatshirt, black pants and white sneakers—and asked for tips through Crime Stoppers.
