Quandela signed an MoU with CMC Microsystems to provide cloud-based photonic quantum computing through Canada’s Quantum Computing Sandbox, giving SMEs, organizations and academic researchers access to a Canada-based platform.
The addition is aimed at speeding quantum application development while keeping work and data on Canadian soil, a selling point Quandela tied to rising data-sovereignty concerns.
CMC Microsystems and Quandela will also support selected high-potential projects with technical and practical help, including for teams that lack deep quantum-computing expertise.
The sandbox, backed by FABrIC and ultimately funded through Innovation, Science and Economic Development Canada, is designed to broaden computing options for research, prototyping and industrial quantum solutions.
