Chute Boxe Renames MMA Institute for Allan Nascimento, 1 Month After UFC Fighter's Death

Diego Lima said Chute Boxe’s Diego Lima Institute will be renamed the Allan Nascimento Institute, extending a month-long tribute to the UFC flyweight after his Aug. 3 death at 34.
Nascimento was found dead in his sleep from an apparent heart attack, and Lima said the loss also upended plans for his student, business partner and co-manager to eventually take over management duties.
Norma Dumont, Marco Tulio and Elves Brener said the death hit the Sao Paulo team hard but also tightened the group’s resolve to carry Nascimento’s values of discipline, honor and integrity into future fights.
Apollo Gomes, who is scheduled to fight for a UFC contract on Dana White’s Contender Series on Sept. 8, said a win would be dedicated to Nascimento.
Nascimento fought six times in the UFC and had been on a four-fight winning streak before a split-decision loss to Mitch Raposo in June.
