September 5 marks the start of discounted preorders for Awol Vision’s LuxVision, a new ultra-short-throw projector due to launch around October at a $5,999 list price.
The pitch centers on optical vertical lens shift — unusual for a UST model — letting users adjust image position without keystone correction or other digital processing that can soften 4K detail.
Awol says the projector delivers a 120-inch 4K 120Hz image from 7.5 inches away at 6,000 ISO lumens, positioning it as a TV replacement for sports and movie viewing.
Gaming features include Dolby Vision Gaming HDR, VRR, ALLM, roughly 1ms input lag, plus three HDMI 2.1 ports, one DisplayPort and multiview for up to four sources.
The total setup cost runs higher once buyers add an ambient-light-rejecting screen, which the report says can add about $1,000 to improve viewing performance.
