The network grew out of Creators4Zohran, a group that backed Mamdani’s 2025 campaign, and is run by new media director Emilia Rowland to promote city programs including voting, healthcare and tenants’ rights.
The report said influencers are not paid directly by the city for joining the chat, but some receive $5,000 to $20,000 per campaign from marketing firms holding city agency contracts.
