Summary
Two Palestinian teenagers — Khalil Abu Alia, 16, and Omar al-Nassan, 19 — were shot dead in al-Mughayyir after settlers and Israeli forces entered to seize dozens of sheep from a Palestinian home.
Israeli activists and residents said snipers fired as villagers resisted the seizure; the military said troops shot "key instigators" after stone-throwing, and confirmed Abu Alia was killed by a soldier.
Al-Mughayyir school staff said the deaths bring to 5 students killed from the school this year, as the village faces tighter road closures, a temporary checkpoint and fears teachers will be blocked when term starts in 3 days.
In South Hebron Hills, Israeli forces also demolished Khirbet a-Taban, leaving 70 residents homeless, including 28 children, after razing homes, water cisterns and livestock pens.
B'Tselem said Khirbet a-Taban is the 66th Palestinian community erased since October 2023, with nearly 5,000 people displaced across the West Bank as settlements expand.
