Patrick Ignozzi, executive producer of Fox Business' Mornings with Maria, was fired Thursday, extending the fallout from Maria Bartiromo’s ouster over leaked internal guidance.
July instructions from Fox executives told senior staff to avoid amplifying Donald Trump’s false 2020 election claims after a primetime address, but Bartiromo reportedly showed those written orders to the White House.
A White House phone call alerted Fox that Bartiromo had violated her employment agreement; the network then pulled her from the air, announced her departure, and scrubbed her digital presence.
Fox gave no public reason beyond calling Bartiromo’s exit a business decision, and it remains unclear whether Ignozzi’s firing stemmed directly from the same breach.
The shake-up hits a network still shadowed by its 2023 $787.5 million Dominion settlement, in which Bartiromo’s election-fraud coverage figured prominently.
