At least eight Cannes premieres and a slate of world debuts will anchor Telluride’s 53rd edition, which opens Friday and runs through Labor Day with an indie-heavy program.
Major studios are largely absent again, with Focus Features and Searchlight the closest studio presence as they launch awards campaigns for Elsinore and Wild Horse Nine.
World premieres include Jesse Eisenberg’s The Debut, Mike Leigh’s Tender Loving Care, Andrew Haigh’s A Long Winter and Guy Nattiv’s The Liberation, while Danny Boyle’s Ink and Werner Herzog’s Bucking Fastard arrive from Venice.
