A month of iOS 27 beta use left the reviewer relying less on Siri AI, even after an initially strong impression of Apple’s overhauled assistant.
Siri AI still proved markedly better at surfacing old texts and photos by indexing on-device personal context, but it did not change entrenched habits of typing, swiping and using rival chatbot Claude.
Analysts said that gap may matter little commercially because Apple’s default position on the iPhone and its privacy reputation could keep most users from looking elsewhere.
Other beta testers reported using Siri more for buried phone data, broader world knowledge and improved dictation, though some iPhone owners may avoid it simply because it is branded as AI.
