CNN’s Dana Bash pressed Cait Conley on whether Democrats should reject the Democratic Socialists of America, but the New York 17 candidate did not give a direct yes-or-no answer.
Conley did say she would not campaign with Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez or New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani, then pivoted to condemning “extremism on both sides” and calling for unity.
Mike Lawler’s campaign seized on the interview, saying Conley had again failed to disavow the DSA and arguing her reluctance to answer direct questions justified its criticism over debates.
