Clark opened her FIBA World Cup career with 14 points and 11 assists without a turnover in Team USA’s 94-61 win over China, earning Player of the Game honors.
Those 11 assists made the 24-year-old the first player to post at least 10 assists with zero turnovers in a World Cup game and broke Alyssa Thomas’ U.S. debut record.
Stephanie White said the performance showed Clark is fully healthy again, praising her facilitation, defense and the pace change she brings when she enters.
Coming off the bench behind starting point guard Chelsea Gray, Clark still reshaped the opener’s tempo — a point USA coach Kara Lawson also highlighted in calling her “terrific.”
