Nine people were killed and 13 wounded in two Israeli strikes early Monday on Kfar Rumman, with casualties including a child, two women and four children among the injured.
One strike hit a residential building, killing eight, while another hit a car and killed a paramedic; Israel said a separate strike in nearby Deir al-Zahrani followed an evacuation warning and retaliated for a Hezbollah drone attack.
The attack came days after Israel said it had taken operational control of the strategic Ali Taher hill overlooking villages and roads leading to Nabatiyeh, underscoring a widening escalation in southern Lebanon.
A U.S.-brokered truce and a June framework deal have failed to halt fighting: Israel keeps striking Lebanon, Hezbollah keeps firing drones, and both sides remain split over disarmament and Israeli withdrawal.
