Apple Adds iPhone Handoff in iOS 27, Letting 2 iPhones Share One eSIM

iOS 27 will introduce iPhone Handoff, a feature that lets two unlocked, active iPhones share one eSIM, phone number and plan for easier device switching.
Settings-based setup appears under Cellular, and a user demo posted on MacRumors suggests the two phones must be near each other at least for initial activation.
Apple first mentioned the feature at WWDC in June 2026 but gave few details; the latest report fills in how it could make owning two iPhones more practical.
iOS 27 is still slated for fall 2026, with reports pointing to a possible Sept. 14 release after the iPhone 18 event, alongside Siri AI upgrades and other performance-focused changes.
