FCC filings identified Pico’s delayed Space Pro as a “Mixed Reality Computer,” putting the headset near the final regulatory step before US commercialization.
Q4 2026 is still the company’s launch target after Pico scrapped a planned Sept. 2 Beijing debut, saying it needed more time for a major software upgrade.
4,000-PPI microOLED displays, roughly 40 pixels per degree and a dual-chip design are among the disclosed specs, with Pico claiming about 12 ms perception latency and more than 2x CPU and GPU gains over XR2 Gen 2.
Component shortages may still complicate timing, with rising RAM, storage and reportedly Qualcomm chip costs adding pressure to Pico’s slower rollout and expanded early-access testing.
The headset is aimed at the premium XR race against Apple Vision Pro, Samsung’s Galaxy XR and Valve’s still-unpriced Steam Frame.
