Clancy Attorney Seeks Plea Deal After 11-1 Mistrial in 3-Child Murder Case

Kevin Reddington said Tuesday he is open to a plea agreement for Lindsay Clancy and hopes Plymouth County prosecutors will revisit the case after last week's mistrial.
Judge William Sullivan declared the mistrial Friday after jurors failed to reach a unanimous verdict, with reports of an 11-1 split in Clancy's trial on three first-degree murder counts.
Reddington argued the lone holdout juror had acknowledged doubt but refused to apply the judge's reasonable-doubt instructions, while also softening earlier criticism and saying he respected the juror's right to hold out.
Patrick Clancy's attorney separately said the family has faced a defamation campaign accusing him of involvement in the children's deaths and warned that legal action could follow; law enforcement has been notified.
Tim Cruz has not said whether he will retry the case or negotiate, and the court set a status hearing for Sept. 29.
