Nov. 5 is the release date for The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time remake on Switch 2, the centerpiece of Nintendo’s 40th anniversary Direct.
Switch 2 upgrades include overhauled graphics, dual-stick controls, a dedicated jump button, fully voiced cutscenes and microphone support that lets players hum ocarina songs for in-game input.
Oct. 29 brings a Zelda 40th Anniversary Edition Switch 2, plus a themed Pro Controller and carrying case; Nintendo Store-exclusive controller bundles will be sold in New York and San Francisco.
Later this year, Nintendo will also sell official acoustic and Hori-made electric ocarinas, while Zelda Notes in the Nintendo Switch app adds progress tracking and hints for new players.
April 30, 2027 is the date for live-action film The Legend of Zelda, with a concert tour starting in Japan in January and in Chicago in February as Nintendo broadens the anniversary push.
