Five-time champion Alex Palou said his fourth straight IndyCar title has not dulled his appreciation of success, calling his current run with Chip Ganassi Racing something he still has to "pinch" himself over.
29-year-old Palou credited Ganassi's culture for sustaining the streak, saying the team still works with championship urgency despite already winning 18 titles.
2027 will bring a major team change when Scott Dixon leaves Ganassi for Arrow McLaren after 25 years, but Palou said he does not expect to become a traditional lead driver because input is shared equally.
IR-28 testing at Indianapolis in August left Palou highly encouraged ahead of another shakedown Thursday, with the Spaniard saying the new chassis had almost no issues and already looks faster than the current cars.
