A.J. Brown was ruled out for the rest of New England’s 13-10 season-opening loss after injuring his ankle in the third quarter of his Patriots debut.
The injury came while Brown battled Seahawks cornerback Nehemiah Pritchett for an incomplete pass; he later underwent X-rays and left the locker room in a boot on his right foot.
Mike Vrabel said after the game he had no update on Brown’s condition. Before exiting, Brown caught 3 of 4 targets for 26 yards.
Brown arrived in New England in a June 1 trade that cost the Patriots a 2028 first-round pick and a 2027 fifth-rounder, raising the stakes around his availability for Week 2 against Pittsburgh on Sept. 20.
