Netflix has scrapped "Ransom Canyon" after two seasons, a decision that came a few months after the show's eight-episode second season premiered on July 23.
The Texas-set romantic drama, created by April Blair, starred Josh Duhamel and Minka Kelly and centered on three ranching dynasties battling over land, legacy and love.
The cancellation also hits New Mexico's production workforce: season two employed more than 700 locals, including 380 crew members, 40 principal actors and 300 background actors.
That local footprint had been touted in 2025 by the New Mexico Film Office as proof of the state's appeal for long-running series production and Netflix's ongoing partnership.
