WTTDOTM’s “Grand Theft Automated License Plate Reader” mod places 235 Flock-style cameras across Los Santos and pays players $600 for destroying each one.
A 1-in-20 chance of a random police chase is built in to mock Flock’s alleged false reporting, and players can also save spoofed camera snapshots to their hard drives.
The modder said the 235 cameras equal one-tenth of the Flock ALPRs tracked by DeFlock.org in Los Angeles County, which helped inspire the in-game map.
Flock’s camera network has drawn backlash over warrantless tracking, false arrests and reported misuse by police, while the ACLU and DeFlock have become focal points for opposition.
