Trump Predicts Iran War Will End After Midterms as U.S. Redirects 100 Ships

Trump said in Ireland that the war with Iran could end “very soon,” likely just after the midterms, accusing Tehran of dragging out the conflict to complicate the election.
His forecast came as the U.S. kept up heavy military pressure: CENTCOM said it has redirected 100 commercial vessels in 60 days under its blockade of Iranian ports, while the Navy kept the USS George Washington and its escorts on high alert.
That posture reflects widening regional risks. Iran-backed Houthis have advanced toward the Bab el-Mandeb after seizing Mocha, threatening another major shipping chokepoint while Hormuz traffic remains disrupted.
Iran has shown no sign of backing down, with officials saying there will be no negotiations until U.S. demands are met, and an Iran-Oman understanding stopping short of reopening the Strait of Hormuz.
The conflict is also biting at home in Iran: the rial reportedly fell to about 2.3 million per dollar as fuel shortages and price hikes triggered strikes by taxi, delivery and truck drivers.
