Not necessarily, but it does put the Eagles’ interior depth under immediate stress. Kendall is not a random emergency option. Reporting throughout camp and preseason consistently identified him as Philadelphia’s top interior backup, with work at left guard, right guard and center. He took first-team reps when Dickerson’s workload was managed, drew strong reviews from coaches and teammates, and already had some regular-season experience at center. That suggests the Eagles prepared for exactly this kind of scenario. The bigger issue is what Kendall’s promotion reveals behind him. Once he moves into Dickerson’s starting spot, Philadelphia loses its most versatile reserve on the interior. The remaining options — Willie Lampkin, Micah Morris, Jake Majors and veteran Michael Jordan if active in the mix — are less proven in meaningful NFL games. So one injury can be covered; a second one could become a real problem. Matchups will matter. Replacing a three-time Pro Bowl guard with a young lineman against strong interior fronts is still a risk, especially in pass protection and communication with Cam Jurgens and Tyler Steen. Dickerson’s absence also removes power in the run game, even if he was clearly limited. Still, this is more a test than a clear exposure. If Kendall plays to the level he showed in camp, the Eagles can survive the next month. If he struggles or another interior lineman goes down, then the line depth quickly shifts from manageable concern to critical vulnerability.

Landon Dickerson said Monday night he expects to go on injured reserve, sidelining the Eagles' three-time Pro Bowl guard for at least four weeks with a knee injury.
The 27-year-old said he was rolled up on in practice weeks ago, the knee never improved, and imaging Monday led to the decision after he called himself a "complete liability" in Sunday's win over Washington.
Pro Football Focus gave Dickerson a 40.3 grade for that game, and The Inquirer reported Drew Kendall is expected to replace him at left guard.
Dickerson said the issue is unrelated to last season's injury, when he returned from August 2025 surgery, struggled through 15 regular-season games and later sought stem-cell treatment in both knees and ankles.
