Sirianni Backs No. 20 Pick Lemon and Guard Dickerson After Uneven Week 1

Nick Sirianni defended two scrutinized Eagles starters after Sunday’s win over Washington, saying he still trusts rookie Makai Lemon and values Landon Dickerson despite their shaky openers.
Dickerson allowed four pressures and one quarterback hit, but Sirianni pointed to the left guard’s power on Saquon Barkley’s long third-down run and said the Eagles have won plenty with him.
Lemon finished his debut with 3 catches for minus-5 yards after an injury-hit camp, yet Sirianni said the first-round receiver helped with blocking, assignments and other work that did not show up in the box score.
Hollywood Brown, signed to a one-year, $6.5 million deal, did not play a snap in Week 1, though Sirianni said the Eagles plan to get his speed onto the field going forward.
The comments came after a 1-0 start in which Jalen Hurts threw 3 touchdowns and no interceptions, but offensive-line leaks and quiet receiver production drew much of the postgame attention.
