Summary
U.S. private employers added an average 16,250 jobs a week in the four weeks ended Aug. 29, according to ADP's latest NER Pulse.
Hiring rose for a second straight week, with the four-week moving average climbing from 10,000 for Aug. 15 to 12,250 for Aug. 22 and 16,250 for Aug. 29.
The gain still sits below early-summer levels: the same measure reached 24,250 in mid-June and has mostly trended lower since then.
ADP says the weekly figures are preliminary, seasonally adjusted estimates based on high-frequency payroll data and published with a two-week lag.
