CSIC Opens Spain's Largest Quantum Nanofabrication Hub After €6 Million Investment

Barcelona's IMB-CNM has launched a new Quantum Nanofabrication Area that CSIC calls Spain's largest facility of its kind, built to manufacture and analyze nanoscale devices for quantum technologies and advanced microelectronics.
More than €6 million from PERTE Chip, the Quantum Communications Complementary Plan and EU Next Generation funds equipped the site with Spain's most advanced electron-beam lithography system, plus microscopes and metrology tools.
Researchers and companies will use the infrastructure for design, manufacturing and prototyping in quantum computing, communications, healthcare, energy and security, as CSIC tries to speed the shift from lab research to industry.
CSIC also unveiled QuARC-CSIC, a new quantum science center in Madrid that will unite 13 research groups across 10 institutes and add new hires to strengthen Spain's broader quantum ecosystem.
