Summary
Nintendo said Fire Emblem: Fortune's Weave will ship with just one save file, clarifying the design days before the Switch 2 game's release this week.
Intelligent Systems director Toshiyuki Kusakihara said the single-save approach fits a structure where players can pursue multiple story paths at once and replay the same path without losing accumulated progress.
Associate producer Kenta Nakanishi said multiple save files would create tracking complications across each protagonist's route, so the team built the system around one consolidated record instead of restricting progression.
To offset that limit, the game preserves restart points from the beginning of every chapter for each protagonist, letting players replay chapters, review maps and cutscenes, and retry specific battles.
