Nvidia's Les Karpas to Tackle Robotics' Data Gap at Disrupt 2026 Before $200 Ticket Deadline

Les Karpas, Nvidia Inception’s global head of physical AI, will speak at TechCrunch Disrupt 2026 on why robotics still lacks its “ChatGPT moment.”
The core bottleneck, he argues, is data: robotics has no internet-scale physical AI dataset comparable to the text corpora that accelerated OpenAI, Anthropic and other large language model developers.
Startups are trying to close that gap with simulation, synthetic data and foundation models trained across multiple robot types, while Nvidia works closely with many of them across robotics, automotive, manufacturing and mobility.
The session is part of Disrupt’s Real World AI Stage at San Francisco’s Moscone West on October 13-15, where 10,000-plus attendees can still save up to $200 by buying tickets before September 25.
