A speech therapist found him unresponsive around 10 a.m. the next day, and hospital doctors later diagnosed heart failure, respiratory failure, pulmonary embolism, sepsis and rhabdomyolysis.
The man died Aug. 31, and investigators said injuries and medical decline tied to the prolonged neglect were significant contributing factors in his death.
Court records say Rog made self-incriminating statements suggesting she knew he needed help but chose not to act; she pleaded not guilty and posted $75,000 bond.
