Google Research released a public library of more than 30 AI-generated interactive STEM learning simulations in English, aimed mainly at middle and high school classrooms.
The experiment lets teachers generate custom simulations with generative UI, while built-in pedagogical guardrails and self-correcting validation loops check solvability, mechanics and visual quality before release.
40 STEM interactives reviewed by UK teachers were rated overall good or excellent, and an initial U.S. study with 12 teachers produced an average quality score of 8 out of 10.
Schools using Google Workspace for Education can join a pilot program to request curriculum-specific simulations; new interactives reach the public library only after teacher review and approval.
The project extends Google's LearnLM education AI work and will next be tested through classroom field studies measuring student engagement and learning gains.
