Chicago Stars Hire Vlatko Andonovski as Chief Soccer Officer After Sept. 7 Kansas City Exit

Summary
Last-place Chicago landed former USWNT coach Vlatko Andonovski as chief soccer officer, giving him control of a technical staff left depleted by the firing of its general manager in May and head coach in August.
Sept. 7 made Andonovski available after a mutual contract termination with Kansas City, and he said Chicago won out over talks with six NWSL teams because of owner Laura Ricketts' values and the club's rebuilding vision.
Andonovski's immediate jobs are hiring a technical director and head coach, with Kansas City assistant Milan Ivanovic among names linked externally, while he also starts reshaping the roster for 2027.
Chicago is on pace for a second straight last-place finish and several league-worst defensive marks, but Andonovski said the Stars should be competing by next year.
