80-year-old Rep. Marcy Kaptur is running for a 23rd term in a newly redrawn northwest Ohio district that Republicans made four percentage points more favorable to the GOP.
Derek Merrin, who lost to Kaptur by less than 1 point in 2024, is pressing an anti-establishment case centered on her 43 years in Congress and her age.
Kaptur is trying to counter with local ties and a record of delivering federal money, even after an early August hit-and-run left her hospitalized for a week and in rehab for three more.
