Apple Omits $1,999 iPhone Duo Foldable Repair Prices as It Posts AppleCare Fees

Apple has added the $1,999 iPhone Duo to its AppleCare damage categories but still has not published any out-of-warranty prices for the inner display, outer display, hinge, battery or full-device replacement.
U.S. AppleCare+ service fees follow Apple’s standard iPhone schedule—$29 for screen or back-glass damage, $99 for other accidental damage and $149 for theft or loss—while a standalone U.S. Duo premium remains unlisted.
Regional pricing is more detailed: Japan lists AppleCare+ at 29,800 yen a year with 3,700-yen and 12,900-yen repair fees, while India reports Rs51,900 annual coverage with Rs2,500 and Rs8,900 service charges.
The disclosure gap appears broader than the Duo alone, with reports saying Apple’s September 2026 lineup—including iPhone 18 Pro models, AirPods 5 and new watches—also lacks published out-of-warranty repair pricing.
That leaves foldable buyers without a published cost baseline for the Duo’s highest-risk parts, a notable omission in a category where rivals often disclose component repair prices and fold-cycle ratings.
