DOJ Charges 16 in 7 States for Alleged Illegal Voting as Probe Tops 1,620 Cases

Summary

The charges are part of a broader Trump administration enforcement push; Assistant Attorney General Colin McDonald said 50 noncitizens have now been charged with illegal voting.
DHS Secretary Markwayne Mullin said investigators have 1,620 open cases, 151 arrests and more than 300,000 suspected cases under review, though the DOJ said all 16 defendants are presumed innocent unless proven guilty.
