NBC News found Trump at a second-term low 41% approval, with 56% disapproving and 55% of registered voters saying his policies have harmed the economy.
That economic backlash has intensified since March, when 48% said his policies hurt; the poll ties the shift to high prices and the Iran war, which 62% say has not been worth it.
Democrats lead the generic congressional ballot 50%-45%, and 43% of voters say their House vote is meant to signal opposition to Trump, including 46% of independents.
Trump-linked campaign messages are also testing poorly: 52% are less likely to back a Trump-endorsed candidate, 46% oppose his proposed $5,000 adult payments, and 42% dislike candidates backing his 2025 tax-and-spending law.
Geography still gives Republicans a cushion in the Senate and some House races, while Democrats remain unpopular as a party, leaving anti-Trump sentiment stronger than pro-Democratic enthusiasm.
